Pokemon Bubble Blue is a ROM hack game of Pokemon Fire Red. It is currently in an open Alpha stage of development. Both the map (as in, the playable world) and the game’s text has been changed. It’s diffirent from Pokemon BubbleBlue by Jokemon. I hope you don’t think it’s the same game.

Pokemon Bubble Blue is a recreation of the Kanto Gen 3 Pokemon games. The end goal is to have redesigned every exterior area and rewritten all of the game text that I want to. Actually, there’s no real end goal. I’m just going to continue updating it until I forget about it probably.

The game is built on Fire Red and retains it’s filetype as a standard GBA ROM which means it can be played on any GBA emulator out there. There is a link to my recommended emulator, Visual Boy Advance, on the download page.

Pokemon Bubble Blue was created with the Advance Map and Advance Text programs. They are astoundingly easy to use and make it very possible for anyone to make a Pokemon ROM hack or even full gen 3 game. You can find download links to both below.

V1 – The First Release!

Well, today is the day I got round to making a website for the game, which means today is the release date of V1, which means that Bubble Blue is in open alpha, and everyone can play the game! *party poppers* Or rather, they can play the very small chunk of the game that’s edited. Which is:
Pallet Town
Route 1
Viridian City
Viridian Forest
Route 2
Pewter City
Route 3

If you want to experience every edit I make and get the full Bubble Blue experience, then don’t play past the Pokemon Center just before Mount Moon. I know that’s maybe 30 minutes of gameplay but it’s 2 days of work on the game. And of course I’m going to update once I’ve got a good chunk more done. And a word of warning: you’ll lose your save file when you update the game. Sorry, nothing I can do about that.

So in the meantime, while you’re waiting for a new update, playtest the game and let me know of any bugs or issues I need to know about through the Bug Report page. And please share this site and tell your friends. Because then there’s more playtesters and I’ve got more incentive to update faster. It’s beneficial to you.
