Description:
Hello, Welcome back to Ducumon and I’m Pokemoner. We will play Pokemon Smeraldo Upgraded by Jabu29! It’s a GBA Hack ROM and based on Pokemon Emerald!

It’s upgraded too many features such as graphics, pokemon, new maps, and more… It’s the same as many Features Hack ROM I posted! But it’s completed in Italian! And now, Let’s play!

The basic story is unchanged. However, due to the novelties I wanted to include, its development should be considered as contemporary to the Generation V games, instead of Generation I as it was originally …

Graphics:
– Improved and more loyal Pokémon sprites (except Unown)

– Improved Pokémon icons

– Sprites of about fifty Trainers have been improved or completely changed with others

– Different “terrains” on which Pokémon rest during battle have been changed (not the backgrounds)

– Added Overworld Sprite of the new Legendaries, also improved Lugia and Ho-Oh

– Several Overworld Sprites of the NPCs have been improved or corrected in some inaccuracies

– Various graphic fixes in many maps; improved the floor of the Pkmn Center

– Updated the logo and credits on the home screen, the year of production in the opening and the title of the game in the final theme

Pokémon:
– All 386 Pokémon are catchable: new random encounters, new post-League events (or changes to some previous ones), new gifts, updated exchanges …

– Each Legendary can only be captured once through a specific event (battle music taken from those of RF / VF)

– The starters of each Generation have their own event that allows them to be obtained (one of the Johto starters is obtained from Prof. Birch, as it was originally, by completing the Hoenn Pokédex)

– Two of the fossils of the Generation is recoverable in a certain place, the other is obtained by event

– Some other Pokémon also have a single event to be obtained; note that I have chosen to make sure that in new events, unlike others in the original game, if Pokémon flee or are defeated instead of being captured, they never reappear, except by restarting the game from the last save (which I believe more correct and that it had to be set like this also in the original events, but I didn’t start to modify those as well …)

– Statistics updated to the VII Generation; modified by my choice also those of Politoed and Dustox by +10 DEF (for my taste of balance with Poliwrath and Beautifly)

– Capture rate of Groudon, Kyogre, Mew and Celebi lowered to 3 as for the other Legendaries

– EV of Ninetales updated to Generation V (Misdreavus and Roselia unmodified as there are no evolutions)

– Statistics colored red (best) or blue (worst) based on Nature

– Feebas can be fished anywhere on route 119 (Super Hook 15%)

– Some wild Pokémon have new items, for others the odds of holding them have been changed

Moves:
– Subdivision between Physical and Special as from Generation IV

– Updated Moves (Damage, PP, Accuracy, Effects, Priority etc …) as from Generation VII (except Target changes and Race type)

– Movesets updated to RF / VF ; also modified by my choice Gardevoir to learn Magic Leaf at LV 1 as Kirlia

– TM, HM and

Move Teacher learning compatibility updated to Generation VI – Move Teacher can teach the Move once every day, instead of just once (now Cenerid does not will teach during the clash between Groudon and Kyogre)

– Move Guide teaches without the need for the Heart Scale

– HM moves can be canceled without the Eliminator (no longer exists, changed the dialogues about it)

Evolutions:
The following evolutions now operate using these new items on the Pokémon (see the Items paragraph for info):

– Alakazam – using the Psychoaroma on Kadabra

– Machamp – using the Bash Energy on Machoke

– Golem – using the Rocky Scream on Graveler

– Gengar – using the Shadowstone on Haunter

– Politoed – using King’s Rock on Poliwhirl (different object from original, wobbly original changed name)

– Slowking – using King’s Rock on Slowpoke

– Steelix – using Metalplate on Onix

– Scizor – using the Metalplate on Scyther

– Kingdra – using the Dragon Scale on Seadra

– Porygon2 – using the Upgrade on Porygon

– Huntail – using the Deep Tooth on Clamperl (different item from the original which does not increase Clamperl’s At Sp, the original is not obtainable)

– Gorebyss – using the Deep Sea Scale on Clamperl (different object from the original which does not increase the Def Sp of Clamperl, the original is not obtainable)

As with the other Stones, these items also do not work if the Pokémon is holding the Stone Stone

Coaches:
– More than 140 Trainers have received changes (more or less) to their team’s Pokémon (and their eventual rematches); in some cases the respective AI has also been improved

– Added a fight against Ivan

– A fight against the Magmatenente Ottavio has been changed with its female equivalent not included in the original game (for my taste of balance with Team Idro)

– The dialogues of the Elite Four and Champion now change after winning the League the first time (but not the Pokémon they use, which remain the same); the professor. Birch and rival will only appear at the first victory, not the following ones

– Fix the name of the son of the Vinci family in Via Vittoria (translated into Enrico in the original, now correctly named Vito)

– In some places, some old acquaintances will come to life, and throw entirely new challenges …

Objects:
– MT reusable (changed the dialogues in this regard)

– MT35 available in a certain place, not only at the Casino of Ciclamipoli as it was originally

– MT37 now contains Fuocofatuo instead of Earthstorm, ball moved to another place; the ball in the desert now contains something else; also adapted the Movesets of those who can learn the move (and those who cannot) as from Generation V.
The reasons for this change are two: the first and most important, concerns the bug of the Eddyhg80 patch on Terrempesta (below the paragraph about it) to which he has not provided a solution. The second is that I still wanted this move, as from Generation IV, to be learned more easily (as already happens for Tossina and Tuononda)

– The original King’s Rock has been renamed to Blindfold, changed the icon and the dialogues about it; the new King’s Rock is only for evolutions

– Gelomai renamed to Gelopiù (for my taste, I never found the translation of the original sensible)

– A certain Pokémarket now sells all the Evolution Stones and the new Evolution Items

– Repellent System updated to that of Generation V (when it ends it asks if you want to use another one)

– To get the Bike you must first complete a small event (too many items are immediately given away …); the cycle path (and not only that one) will therefore be accessible a little later in the game

– Heart Scales can be given away in a new location, in exchange for other items that were difficult to find in the original game

– Some NPCs may have new events and donate previously unobtainable Items. Better to talk to everyone to find possible news!

– Some events include new Key Items

Maps:
– More than 35 new maps added, of various sizes

– Changed the music of some maps, especially those that had the same as others (music taken from those of RF / VF). All the original music is still present, even if a couple maybe in different places from before …

– Renewed Maternal Island

– “Reorganized” Abyssal Lair

– The buildings of Ceneride and Verdeazzupoli that were used for multiplayer connections now have other purposes

– Grotta dei Times restored with all levels (and top floor music)

– Monte Cordone has two more floors uphill and two less downhill (to my taste, in the original game it was basically low and deep)

– Fix the weather on the top of the Sky Tower (did not change during the clash between Groudon and Kyogre)

– Fix path 134 and Cenerid Gym (very small parts allowed to walk where you could not)

– Fix the Trainer School graphical glitch (keeping some Pokémon in slots 10 and 12 of the sixth box the windows became buggy)

– Modified the NPC sprites where there were too many of the same in close-up maps, to give just the right variety!

Gameplay:
– Fix of the bug save after the League

– From the beginning of the game a new NPC will be able to update the National Pokédex (after having received the classic one)

– Change of day / night graphics and based on the seasons (modified some places that were considered indoors and therefore did not receive the change)

– You can run inside the buildings

– You receive Exp Points. even when a Pokémon is caught

– Pokémon Eggs hatch at Level 1 as from Generation IV (instead of Generation 5)

– Pokémon names, Moves, Skills and Items in menus decapitalized (items still capitalized in dialogs)

– The Ciclanova event is no longer optional but must be completed before continuing on Route 118 (not only for my whim, but also for a little more reason)

– Regenerafossili can also bring other Pokémon back to life (if you have more fossils in the Backpack, a predetermined order will follow)

– Fix Space Center dialogues (did not update after the Team Magma event but only after the League)

– Other dialogues of some improved NPCs

– In addition to the Game Freak Team, also a new one NPC will appear at the Alhepolis hotel …

Storm Storm:
The Eddyhg80 PSS patch has the bug where, using a Special Move against a Rock-type Pokémon during a sandstorm, the game crashes, due to the implementation of the DEF increase in the patch. SP. for Rock-types during the storm.
Having received no solution from Eddy in this regard, Earthstorm has been removed for the time being. It’s not the best, but it’s the only way I’ve found to get the game running smoothly while keeping the PSS division of its patch.
The change is applied to the following:

– Movesets that included Earthstorm have been changed by inserting another move;

– MT37 contains Netherfire, readjusted the Movesets of those who can learn it and those who cannot

– No Trainer can use Earthstorm anymore, not even in the Battle Frontier and in the Battle Tents

– In the path 111 the sandstorm remains, but any risk that could be eliminated use Special Moves against Rock-types

IMPORTANT: Pokémon that use Stormstorm can be encountered in the Battle Pyramid, on floors 78 to 84. I haven’t found a way to fix it, so be careful. In any case, the Gold symbol only requires up to the 56th floor.

Inaccuracies (nothing that compromises the game, fixes accepted):
– If you level up when catching a registered Pokémon for the first time, the text will be offset when the Pokédex window is displayed. However, reopening the page from the Pokédex in subsequent views the text will be shown correct (bug derived from earning Exp. On capture)

– New locations are not indicated on the Hoenn Map in zoom mode, and a couple of them are not shown in the location corrected when the player is inside the area

– After the League remains the event of prof. Birch delivering the National Pokédex even if you have already received it at the beginning (I didn’t find where to work the script about it)

– On some emulators, the black background with white flashes that appears when using the MN Sub may not appear (I think it depends on the DNS)
